Work is now well underway on the development of a new Costa Coffee Drive-Thru facility at Aston Cox's Business Park in Blackpool, with the project now deep into its second week. The development is transforming the former SEAT dealership into a new drive-thru destination, adding another reason for customers and visitors to make a trip to the site, which is already home to Cox Motor Group’s Chery, Honda, North West Honda Super Centre Bikes, Automart, SEAT and XPENG dealerships, alongside YESS Electrical and a Mercedes-Benz vehicle repair garage. A key feature of the new development will be the Aston Cox rapid EV chargers, which will sit alongside the new Costa drive-thru lane, providing additional charging facilities for visitors to the Business Park.
Much of the work so far has been taking place inside the former dealership, where the building is being carefully divided between the new Costa Coffee operation and Cox Motor Group’s remaining space. A fire-rated, soundproof stud wall is being installed through the centre of the building to create the two separate areas. Meanwhile, the existing floor tiles are being removed and trenches are being cut into the concrete floor to accommodate the ducting required for Costa’s electrical and data cabling. Outside, a pathway running behind the building has also been excavated and will soon be concreted. This will provide Costa staff with a dedicated route for entering the building and moving bins to and from the premises without interfering with the customer-facing areas.
Over the coming weeks, Aston Cox's team will continue progressing the internal works, while attention will increasingly turn towards the outside of the building. The next major phase will see the drive-thru lane and Costa customer outdoor seating area begin to take shape, with exterior works over the next fortnight concentrated around the outer edge of the site before the focus moves across the existing vehicle forecourt. That area will ultimately become the new drive-thru lane, customer parking and the location of the rapid EV chargers. The development is another investment in the future of Aston Cox's Blackpool Business Park, designed to benefit Cox Motor Group and our other tenants, while bringing more people to the location and helping generate further economic activity for the surrounding local area.
